>  About Me

Hi there and welcome to Curiously Erin!

You’re in the right place if you dream to travel the world longer and further than you currently are. Maybe you want to know all about funding your travels while working abroad. I can help you with that!

Since you’re already here I bet that’s exactly the kind of person you are.

Maybe you’re someone who:

  • Has the travel bug and wants to see as much of the world as possible.
  • Thinks that the societal norm might not be for them. 9-5, pfft, no thanks.
  • Wishes they had more of an idea of how to start on a long term travel journey
  • Needs to be a budget traveller to afford the travel lifestyle.

No matter where you are in your travel journey, whether you are still at home or been on the road for years Curiously Erin is for you.

I want to show you that long-term travel can be affordable.

While I travel I work, Couchsurf and volunteer with programs like Workaway. By doing this you can travel while spending nothing on accommodation; usually the biggest expense after flights.

Do you love nature and the outdoors? You’ll find a lot of posts on here that are geared at visiting national parks, hiking, skiing and anything adventure based.

I am also a backpacker. I do not have a trust fund and I still have debts back home. That’s ok. If I can do it, so can you! You’ll find plenty of tips for travelling on a budget (Hint: I like to do everything, so you can too). Let me show you what you can do while travelling on a budget.

This past trip I have started travelling with my lovely boyfriend. Although the majority of my travels before this were solo. I have been to over 30 countries in 5 continents.

About me – meet Erin!

Hi there! Now you know all about Curiously Erin, it’s time to meet me. I’m Erin!

About Erin in Bucharest at the wonderful Christmas Markets enjoying a mulled wine
This is me. Hi! I enjoy coffee, mulled wine and sitting by warm fires.

I was born in Australia and raised in a small coastal town on the Pacific Coast. Growing up I had very little experience of travelling. From a young age, I knew that was all I wanted to do was travel.

At 17 I took my first overseas trip to Germany on school exchange where I spent the winter. This is when my life changed forever. Gone were the days where I would sit at home studying (sorry mum), bring on the days daydreaming about life overseas.

Next came the snow seasons, from 2007 – 2013 I had an endless winter. I started out working as a lift operator, then in ski rentals, at bars and restaurants, but mostly as a ski instructor.

After completing my bachelor degree in paramedicine, I worked as a paramedic for a year before leaving to continue my travels.

I spent almost 2 years working aboard superyachts in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

Most importantly, I want to inspire you to live your best life, whatever that means for you.

Before I go, I want to invite you to join my email list community. By signing up (it’s free), you’ll get access to my Freebies Library with e-books, checklists, printables, and more.
